Jemma’s Pedigree Herd

Corskie texels was founded in December 2014, with the purchase of 3 in lamb gimmers purchased at the Christmas Stars sale in Carlisle. 2 purchased form Milnbank and 1 from Strathbogie flocks.

Jemma was very successful in the summer show circuit in 2015, where she achieved 3 firsts, a second, a third and a fifth for her ewe lamb, and 5 firsts, a second, a fifth, 2 male champions, a Reserve Texel Champion, 2 Texel Champions and Reserve Overall sheep Champion, with her first pedigree tup lamb, Corskie Whopper. Whoppers mum then joined the show team at Tarland show where she picked up 5th in her class, and the 3 of them picked up the best group of three.

In August 2015 we were again extremely lucky down at the Texel Scottish National Show and Sale down in Lanark, with Whopper, achieving fourth in the YDP class, going on to sell to 38000gns, to Northern Ireland.

Whopper then went on to get best Junior Texel Breeding Tup Lamb in Northern Ireland.

In December 2015, Jemma and Iain judged the Pedigree Texels at Thainstone’s Christmas Classic, where Jemma Purchased the Champion and the Reserve champion, a ewe from Strathbogie and a gimmer from Milnbank.

She purchased another 5 between The Twilight and The Christmas Stars Sale down in Carlisle, bought between Haddo, Deveronvale, Goldies and Milnbank flocks.

We are very pleased with this year’s crop of lambs they are showing great potential.
